Arrival and preparation
Meet and pickup at Thessaloniki Airport (SKG), transfer to Ouranoupoli, accommodation and preparation for entering Mount Athos.
Arrive at Thessaloniki Airport (SKG) and step into a pilgrimage where the practical details are explained before you commit. We show you the route, the price, the access limits and the parts that can change on Athos—so you can prepare with confidence and keep your attention on the journey itself.
Joining internationally is simple: travel independently from your country to Thessaloniki Airport (SKG). From the confirmed airport pickup, the organised pilgrimage begins. See exactly how the meeting point works.
Mount Athos is not a destination that can be reduced to a rigid tourism schedule. We distinguish the route that can be planned from the elements that depend on permits, monastery hospitality, transport and weather—so expectations stay realistic from the beginning.
Meet and pickup at Thessaloniki Airport (SKG), transfer to Ouranoupoli, accommodation and preparation for entering Mount Athos.
Entry by boat, the moment that marks the start of the pilgrimage itself. The programme may include Dochiariou Monastery, followed by a walk to Xenophontos, then a transfer to Vatopedi and, depending on time, to Protaton or Karyes.
Visits to monasteries, cells and sketes. The programme may include Koutloumousiou Monastery, a walk to Iviron, transport to Lakkoskiti and, subject to availability, Saint Paul or Saint Panteleimon.
Departure from Mount Athos by boat, return to Ouranoupoli and transfer to Thessaloniki. International onward travel is arranged separately by each pilgrim.
The final programme is confirmed before departure and may be adapted depending on monastery availability, weather, transport, the rules of Mount Athos and the pace of the group.
The same published scale applies to everyone. Booking earlier gives more time for permit formalities, monastery accommodation and transport planning—and it also gives you access to the lower price tier.
688 EUR
more than 60 days before departure
722 EUR
between 45 and 60 days before
749 EUR
less than 45 days before
The price is per person and is set on the day you confirm your booking. It does not vary by device, by where you access the site from, or by how many times you have visited. Documents for the permit are sent 30 days before departure, so a late booking leaves less time for the formalities.
Each date shows the price valid today. Earlier planning usually means both a better price tier and more time for the required formalities.
We prefer traceable testimony to polished marketing claims. Public recommendations remain on Facebook, where the original authors—and their words—can be checked independently.
Tell us when you would like to travel and what you need to understand. We will explain availability, the permit process, the SKG meeting point and the practical reality of the pilgrimage—without pressure to book.
